Little Infantry
Plot: Prepare to play the role of an ant trying to protect your anthill from the falling debris being discarded by the humans of Central Park. You must build turrets in order to destroy the debris before it hits your base. This game was developed during the UAT Fall Game Jam 2021. This project fits this objective because I was able to establish collaboration, and professional leadership skills by working with other disciplines to deliver highly polished and completed projects. I worked as a programmer on this team along with about 7 other people. We were able to have a working and completed game after 48 hours since this was a game jam. It was my first semester so I didn’t have any experience but the Lead Programmer did a good job or helping me learn.
Space of Deception
Space of Deception is a 2D platformer set in space. The main character is going through the level trying to kill all the space bugs and purple space crabs while collecting the coins around the level. The goal is to make it to the end of the level with all 10 coins. This was a game that was developed during UAT's March 2023 Game Jam. The theme was Deception and we incorporated that by having the controls be opposite of what you would expect, D being left and A being right. This project fits this objective because I was able to establish collaboration, and professional leadership skills by working with other disciplines to deliver highly polished and completed projects. I worked with another person to finish this game in 48 hours since it was a game jam. I was a programmer and designer on this project and she was an artist and designer. We had to work together remotely since I wasn’t in-person UAT when this game jam went on (I was out of state).
Carrier
Carrier is an open-world first-person co-op shooter set at sea. This game is currently still in production in production studio at the University of Advancing Technology and is being made in Unreal Engine 5. This project fits this objective because I was able to establish collaboration, mentorship, and professional leadership skills by working with other disciplines on a project. In spring 2023 I helped develop the game as a Design Lead for the project. I absolutely loved working on this project, I was very nervous when I first started out since I have never been a leader of a department for a project of this size and I wasn’t sure if I was cut out for it but it turns out I was wrong because I flourished as a leader and I loved being able to step up and help the project become a success and I am looking forward to implementing my new skills as a leader. I now understand a lot more of what goes into being successful in that role.
UAT Invasion
UAT Invasion is a multiplayer board game in which two players compete to control the most rooms and territories on the board. The game is based on the University of Advancing Technology (UAT), in which one player takes the role of some of the UAT professors and the other takes the role of an evil form of AI, whose main goal is to hack and take over the school. Players will roll dice to overtake/protect the rooms that are spread out around the two-tiered board. Most of the mechanics of the game will be implemented by the usage of movement cards and dice rolls. With bonuses including puzzles, blocking, and special abilities. This project fits this objective because I was able to establish collaboration, and professional leadership skills by working with other disciplines to deliver highly polished and completed projects. I worked with two other people to complete this game. I helped design, as well as did some of the art for this project. We collaborated on every decision and worked very well together.
Coven of Chaos
I was one of three designers for this game. Overall the project was a huge success. Plot: You and your friends are a coven of witches and have been asked by the Witch’s Council to cause mischief around the village. However, only your leader is being paid, but fortunately, your coven has no leader, so whoever has the highest reputation among the other witches is seen as the leader and gets paid. Your goal is to earn the highest reputation among your peers by the end of 6 rounds. You can win by any means necessary, even killing off your fellow witches. This project fits this objective because I was able to establish collaboration, and professional leadership skills by working with other disciplines to deliver highly polished and completed projects. I worked with two other people to complete this game. I helped design and complete this game. It went very well and the game turned out amazing.
